A while ago I had the amazing opportunity to visit the Harry Potter Studio near Watford. And by a while, I mean, about a year ago. (Yeah, took me a while to get around to blogging about it.) It was super exciting, and I felt like a kid again.
When I was about 12, I was completely obsessed with the movies. I once remembering writing to Emma Watson telling her how much I loved the movies and how I wish I could meet her (such a loser, haha). I remember getting a letter back with a signed photograph as well, being only a young kid I got so excited to the point I cried a little, haha.
Anyway, I went with two of my good friends, one of which photobombed one of my pictures (near the fireplace). Also, another Harry Potter fanatic. Although, I personally wouldn't call myself a fanatic.

At the studio I got to see how things were made, how the movie was filmed, the exact costumes up close. I got to see the creatures and characters in full size, I also saw the sets and the props, it was brilliant. I even got to fly a broomstick, well, the green-screen made it seem like I was flying a broomstick; I was technically only sitting on a stick of wood with wind being blown in my face.
I got to take some rather artistic photographs of a few of the things that I saw. I guess I could take the time now to talk about the things I like and dislike about Harry Potter. Since the beginning of loved this idea of an entirely different world, full of magic, positions and fantasy creatures. I love darkness of the movie, the way it was filmed and the lighting of it made it all seem rather dark, almost Gothic, and I enjoyed that.
When the Prisoner of Azkabhan came out I became obsessed with Hermione Granger, she grew to be such a bad ass compared to how she used to be in the first two films. Especially the punch to Draco's face. Real bad ass.

And I also absolutely love, Albus Dumbledore, although he didn't always used to be my favorite. When I first started watching Harry Potter (as mentioned before) I was extremely young and I didn't quite understand everything Dumbledore said, and now that I'm older and I re-watch the movies I realize that he was a philosopher in his own right.
Neville Longbottom on the other hand, I find him to be excruciatingly annoying. Not to mention everyone thinks he's grown up to be this hot guy. I still think he's as ugly as he was before, haha. Draco's a dick. And Snape, in my opinion is misunderstood.
As well as 'The Prisoner of Azkabhan', I also really like 'The Goblet of Fire' but on a whole I think Azkabhan was by far my favorite of all the Harry Potter movies. But going back to the subject of this post, the tour of the studio was incredible. I absolutely loved it and I cannot wait to return there again.
"Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times,
if one only remembers to turn on the light." - Albus Dumbledore.
