Facing your fears

Have you noticed how even the tiniest little fear can bring us to ours knees, and how one emotion can throw all logic and reason right out the window?! Never let your fear decide your fate, sometimes the things that scare us the most are also the things that could make us the happiest, fear can keep you away from the best things in life, DO NOT let fear control you, and DO NOT let fear of failing keep you from trying! The cave that you fear to enter, holds the treasure you seek the most; there are things in this life we are too afraid to face, don’t allow fear to hold you back, if there is something you want, GO GET IT! If there’s something you need to say, SAY IT! Don’t let your fear of rejection or the unknown stop you from saying what you know you should say and from going after what you want! The more you put things off, the worst it’s going to make you feel. The more you push it away, the more you’re going to regret not having tried. Fear, does not confront you, it holds you back!

Fear can also, distract us from what is important, say you’re in a room of crowded people and there’s this one person, that you REALLY like and you REALLY want to talk to them, and you waste the whole time thinking about what to say, or worrying about what they might be thinking. That you completely ignore the fact that there is someone else somewhere in that same room who may be sitting by themselves, sad and alone, and you may miss that opportunity to be of service, and to help someone whom may need a friend. Another example is, say you have to give a public speech in order to inspire people to make a difference, or to change their life. However, you’re too scared to give public speeches and so you decide not to go through with it, there may have been somebody in that crowd who REALLY needed to hear that speech, which YOU were supposed to have given! And due to your fear you missed out on a great opportunity to inspire or even CHANGE somebodies life!

Personally, I think that the best way for you to conquer your fear is by getting real close and staring at it right in the face! Act, don’t think! Don’t be like “I’m not going to be afraid of heights anymore; I’m not going to be afraid of heights anymore!” That’s not going to resolve ANYTHING! Freaking get in that helicopter and jump! Climb up a tree and just sit there! If you’re afraid of the dark, go into a room late at night, turn off all the lights and just sit there for 5 minutes, then do that again the next day, but this time do it for 10 minutes, and so on. Until you are finally comfortable with the Idea that “oh, this isn’t so bad!”

It is so much easier to live life without fear, by letting go, you release a load that was unnecessary for you to carry. Why make life harder, than it already is, by giving yourself something else to worry about?! There is no greater fear than that of one’s mind, if you keep thinking that you’re afraid of something or that you can’t do something about it, you will begin to believe, and it will get harder and harder for you to escape. Remember that you should always follow your heart and never look back, it doesn’t matter how it turns out once you get there; it’s the journey that will forever follow you. Think about how great it will be one day when you can turn to yourself and say “I was afraid of that once!”
